Der NL-208P GPS Empfänger von Navilock ist kleiner (ca. 4cm x 4cm) GPS-Empfänger mit 1,5m Kabel an einem 6-poligen Navilock PDA Stecker. Der Chipsatz von Sony mit dem Namen CXD2951 kann 12 Satelliten max. gleichzeitig empfangen.

Diese GPS-Maus habe ich schon seit 2 Jahren und würde sie heute nicht mehr kaufen. Das ging schon mit der Erst-Installation los, nach der Installation springt der Mauszeiger und clickt auch wie wild irgendetwas an.

Nach der Installation musste sofort die GPS Maus getrennt und im Hardware-Manager ein falsch und neu hinzugekommener Trackball deaktiviert werden. Mit diesem Tip konnte mir der freundliche Support aus der Patsche helfen, das sollte hier auch einmal erwähnt werden.

Aber auch nach erfolgreicher Installation wird die GPS Maus öfters nicht erkannt. Das Problem tritt unregelmäßig auf. Ich hatte immer Probleme die Maus „für immer“ zu installieren. Oft waren nach Aus und Einschalten des Rechners nervende Neuinstallationen notwendig. Wenn die GPS Maus ersteinmal lief, dann war ich zufrieden mit den Ergebnissen.

Durch das lange Kabel kann man sie auf dem Autodach montieren und hat dann natürlich guten Empfang, sonst ist sie etwas schwerhörig, der Test in einem ICE mit bedampften Scheiben bringt bei dieser GPS-Maus aber absolut keinen Empfang.

Ich verwende die GPS-Maus mit MS Autoroute Essentials 2006, mitgeliefert wurden auch noch der “Marco Polo Großer Reiseplaner 2005″, der aber fürs Geocachen nicht zu gebrauchen ist.

Die CD mit Stücken von Mike Oldfield soll am 1.12. erscheinen. Pünktlich zum Start der Deutschlandkonzerte der Nokia Night of the Proms 2006. Die Setlist ist übrigens noch Geheim und soll Überaschungen beinhalten. Das Orchester hat Oldfields Werke komplett neu arrangiert. Lassen wir uns also überraschen!
